Project Overview
This 2026 BMW M3 rolled in wearing factory gloss black and left our Las Vegas shop with a completely different personality. The owner wanted a satin finish without touching the original paint, so we covered the entire car in XPEL satin paint protection film. It gives the M3 a smooth, low-sheen look that makes every crease and vent on the body stand out, and underneath it all the factory paint stays protected from rock chips and scratches.
Gloss black is beautiful, but it’s also one of the hardest colors to keep looking clean, especially with the dust we deal with here. The satin film solves a lot of that, and to make it even easier to live with, we topped it with an XPEL ceramic coating. Satin film needs a careful approach since you don’t want to add shine, so the coating keeps the finish flat while helping water, dirt, and grime release with a simple wash.
We also coated the wheels. Anyone who has owned a BMW knows the brake dust can turn clean wheels gray within a day of driving, and the coating keeps that dust from bonding to the finish so it rinses off instead of baking on. The glass got coated too, so rain beads up and rolls away.
For tint, we installed XPEL XR Plus ceramic film at 20% on the side and rear windows and 55% on the windshield. The 20% matches the darker, stealthier look of the satin body, and the windshield film blocks a big chunk of heat and UV while still keeping the view clear from behind the wheel.
From a new car to a satin-black M3 that’s protected inside and out, this one turned out exactly how the owner pictured it.

What We Did
Vehicle Inspection & Surface Preparation
We inspect the paint, then wash and decontaminate the selected panels to prepare them for film installation.
Coverage & Pattern Preparation
We confirm the package coverage and prepare the film patterns for the vehicle's panels.
Paint Correction, If Needed
If the paint needs correction, we address it before installation so existing imperfections aren't sealed beneath the film.
PPF Installation
We position and apply the film panel by panel, carefully working it around the vehicle's contours for a smooth, consistent finish.
Edge Finishing & Detailing
We finish the film edges and detail the protected areas, wrapping edges where the panel and installation allow.
Quality Inspection
We inspect the installation for alignment, coverage, and finish, then review the care instructions with the customer.
