2027 Rivian R2 | Full Body PPF, XR Plus Tint & Ceramic Coating

The Rivian R2 has quickly become one of our favorite vehicles to work on, and we’ve been seeing a lot of them come through the shop lately. This 2027 R2 got the full setup: full body paint protection film, XPEL XR Plus ceramic tint on every window, and an XPEL ceramic coating to finish it off.

The R2 is built for getting out and exploring, which also means gravel roads, desert trails, and plenty of rocks kicked up by the vehicle in front of you. We covered every painted panel in PPF so the owner can take it wherever they want without worrying about chips and scratches. The film was wrapped around edges wherever possible to keep the clean, rounded look of the R2 intact, including around those signature oval headlights and the smooth front end.

For the windows, the owner wanted the heat rejection without changing the look, so we used XPEL XR Plus at 70% on every window, including the windshield. At that shade the film is nearly clear, so the R2 still looks factory from the outside, but XR Plus blocks a serious amount of heat and UV. In a Las Vegas summer, that makes a noticeable difference in how cool the cabin stays and how hard the A/C has to work, which is a nice bonus on an EV.

Last, we applied an XPEL ceramic coating over the film. It adds a deep gloss and makes the R2 much easier to clean after a dusty weekend, since dirt and water slide right off instead of sticking.
